Creation of an Innovative Model for Cooperation between Municipal Authorities and Interested Parties, and Exchange of Information about the Most Efficient Methods for Sustainable Tourism Development, Based on Natural and Cultural Resources, as well as Marketing of the Destinations around the Bulgarian “Rila” and the Italian “Sila” and “Polino” National Parks.
It will be carried out with financial support amounting to 220 498 leva from the Operational programme „Regional development” 2007-2013, co-financed by the European Union through the European Fund for Regional Development.
The main goals of the project are:
Creation of an Innovative Model for Cooperation between Municipal Authorities
and Interested Parties, and Exchange of Information about the Most Efficient
Methods for Sustainable Tourism Development, Based on Natural and Cultural
Resources, as well as Marketing of the Destinations around the Bulgarian
“Rila” and the Italian “Sila” and “Polino”
National Parks.
Our activities are:
Activity
1: Analysis of the development of tourism in the Dupnitsa municipality.
Examination of the willingness of entrepreneurs from the municipality
to develop tourism services with a focus on cultural and natural attractions,
and identification of potential participants for the creation of a Municipal
Tourism Council.
Activity 2:
Summary and analysis of the experience of the Cosentsa Province, Italy,
and other countries in the EU, for the joint development of sustainable
tourism and partnership between local and regional administrations with
NGOs and businesses. Research of successful marketing methods in relation
to the promotion of destinations for sustainable tourism based on natural
attractions and local products around “Polino” and “Silla”
National Parks in the Provincia di Cosenza.
Activity 3:
Creation of a Municipal Tourism Council.
Activity 4:
Training of the newly formed Tourism Council and tourism entrepreneurs
from the area.
Activity 5:
Study tour to the Cosentsa Province for the Bulgarian partners. Signing
of an agreement for interregional cooperation between the Tourism Council
of the Dupnitsa municipality and Cosentsa Province, and sharing of experience
with neighboring municipalities.
Activity 6:
Management of the project, distribution of the results, and provision
of information to the public.
