Study of the Cultural and Historical Heritage of the trans-border region of Dupnitsa - Macedonian Municipality Kriva Palanka as a base for tourism development (May- November 2008)
Client: Municipality of Dupnitsa
The Study is part of the 2005/017-456.02.003 PHAR funded project of Dupnitsa Municipal Administration called “Get to Know your Neighbor”. Its goals is to identify the opportunities of development of a trans-boundary tourist product based on the cultural and historical heritage of both municipalities of Dupnitsa and Kriva Palanka as well as to give concrete recommendations and ideas for such products.
The activities include:
Identification
of the cultural and historic heritage and attractions of the municipalities
of Dupnitsa and Kriva Palanka;
Identification
of the important cultural dates and events of the calendar of both municipalities,
as well as historical facts;
Collection
of information on the ethnographic resources of the two municipalities
- customs, life style and folklore;
Listing and
describing the cultural institutions in both municipalities;
Development
of a structured electronic data base of the collected information.
